  1. Check for other Holders at holderdna.com. My line is frm England b4 1700, Culpepper Rappahanok Rvr area of cent VA to Surry and Randolph Co.s NC. A Presley Holder appears on Pittsylvania Co.VA land records with a John Holder. My 4x grt grandfather was Jeptha Holder who married a Hardin. Lewis is an old family name that originated up in the Shenandoah where the Holders lived on the crest of the Blue Ridge neighbors of Dan'l Morgan. Holders were in the Fr and Ind. War and a cousin Capt John Holder was one of the rifleman from VA that joined up in 1775 and marched all the way to Boston. JH was assigned by VA govt to lead the militia at Boonesborough 1778 and onward. Another Holder and inlaw of Danl Boone and who returned to Surry had accompanied Boone on his long hunts b4 Boonesborough. Ive seen recs for John, Presley, Solomon, and Lewis for RW service. N E way contact me, we're cousins. All the best. G.
