Baylor Holder

Most all present day Holder family members in Warren Co. descended from Baylor Holder.Baylor was born in 1795 most likely in Pittsylvania Co. Va. he was the son of Presley Holder born in 1766 in Virginia and died around 1850 in Surry Co. North Carolina.Baylor married Debby York on November12,1813 in Surry Co. North Carolina,between 1830 and 1840 Baylor along with a cousin named Spencer Holder began there migration west into Tennessee settling in White Co. Tennessee in the area known as Holders Station.During the late 1840s Baylor his wife and 8 children migrated into Warren Co. Tennessee settling along Mountain Creek,present day this area consist of several small communities such as Blues Hill,Bratchers Crossroads and Lucky.No records show an exact death date for Baylor Holder but using census records he died sometime after 1870 and is most likely buried in an unmarked grave in the Blues Hill Cemetery in Warren Co. Tennessee
